Hello, oh online world. I’m Sweet Machine, and you may remember me from such blogs as Shapely Prose, where I played the part of academic, poet, less-than-straight person, and resident four-eyes. I took a break from blogging, mostly because of this kind of nonsense, but now I find that I still have opinions and, what’s more, I still like my cartoon avatar. (Thanks again, Fillyjonk!)
Here are some things I have opinions on: feminism, body image, grief, poetry, politics, pop culture, hair color, logic, and whatever Kate Harding’s talking about on a given day. My patron saints are Walt Whitman and Margaret Atwood.
“Sanity Watchers” was coined at Shapely Prose as a parody of the Weight Watchers points system. If you only have a certain amount of sanity points for the day, don’t spend them on trolls or fat-haters or anti-feminists. Spend them on baby donuts instead.
